Gimmari

About the Food

One of the delicious and healthy Korean snacks, it’s called Gimmari. This dish is made from Sago flour with dangmyeon noodles as the filling, wrapped in Nori paper.

Ingredients

A. Coating Batter

  1. Sago flour 100 grams
  2. Rice flour 30 grams
  3. Baking powder 2 grams
  4. Egg white 1
  5. Water 100 ml
  6. Salt ½ tsp
  7. Pepper ½ tsp
  8. Chicken stock powder ¼ tsp

B. Filling

  1. Edamame Edashi 100 grams
  2. Vermicelli noodles 100 grams
  3. Carrot 30 grams
  4. Soy sauce 2 tbsp
  5. Sesame oil 2 tbsp
  6. Chicken stock powder 1 tbsp
  7. Nori sheets 3

Preparation Steps

  1. Soak the vermicelli noodles in hot water until soft. Set aside.
  2. Soak Edamame Edashi in hot water for 2 minutes, then peel the skins. Set aside.
  3. Chop the edamame, carrot, and mushrooms. Mix them with the softened vermicelli until well combined. Set aside.
  4. Lay the nori sheet flat and place the vermicelli mixture on top, then roll and shape as desired.
  5. Dip the rolls into the batter and fry until golden and crispy. Drain excess oil.
  6. Gimmari is ready to serve.
