Vegan Balado Meatballs

One of the family’s favorite dishes, Vegan Balado Meatballs. Made with Edamame Balls, combined with sago flour, okra, and various spices. It has a savory, spicy flavor with a soft texture.

Ingredients

  1. Edamame balls 250 grams
  2. Okra 150 grams
  3. Sago flour 100 grams
  4. Egg 1 piece
  5. Bird’s eye chili 2 pieces
  6. Red chili 50 grams
  7. Kaffir lime leaves 4 leaves
  8. Lemongrass 1 stalk
  9. Salt ¼ tsp
  10. Pepper ¼ tsp
  11. Powdered stock ½ tsp
  12. Sugar to taste
  13. Tomato paste 1 tsp
  14. Water 25 ml

Preparation Steps

  1. Sauté the red chilies until wilted, then blend them with the kaffir lime leaves and bird’s eye chilies, adding a little oil.
  2. Sauté the blended spices again until they change color to red and become oily.
  3. Add the lemongrass to the sautéed spices, then add salt, pepper, stock powder, tomato paste, water, and sugar.
  4. Add the okra and edamame balls, then cook until fully done.
  5. Vegan Balado Meatballs are ready to be served.
