Snacking on Nastar with pineapple filling is common, but try Edamame Nastar instead! The combination of gluten-free Sago Flour and Edashi Edamame creates a soft texture, making it a healthy and perfect snack for at home.
Ingredients Jam
- Edashi Edamame – 200 grams
- Sugar – 85 grams
- Water – 50 ml
- Salt – 1 tsp
Cookies
- Sago Flour – 200 grams
- Granulated Sugar – 50 grams
- Margarine – 40 grams
- Powdered Milk – 20 grams
- Egg – 1 piece
Preparation Steps
- Soak Edashi Edamame in hot water for 2 minutes, then drain.
- Peel Edashi Edamame, remove the skins, and blend until smooth.
- Combine all filling ingredients, then cook until it boils and the water reduces. Remove from heat and let it cool.
- Prepare the Nastar dough by mixing sugar and margarine, then whisk until fluffy.
- Add the egg, then whisk again until evenly mixed.
- Add sago flour and powdered milk, then mix and knead until the dough is smooth.
- Take a portion of the dough, then flatten it (about 0.5 cm thick).
- Cut the dough into strips, place the shaped edamame jam on top, then roll up the dough strip.
- Prepare a baking tray and grease it with margarine.
- Arrange the Nastar neatly on the tray, then bake at 125°C for 20 minutes.
- Brush the Nastar with egg yolk halfway through baking (at 10 minutes), then continue baking.
- Remove from the oven and let the Nastar cool.
- Store the Nastar in an airtight container.
- Edamame Nastar is ready to enjoy!
