About the Food
A Middle Eastern-style snack made from a blend of protein-rich Edashi Edamame and Tahini paste. Perfect as a dip for crackers, biscuits, baguette, or chips.
Ingredients
Tahini Ingredients
- Sesame seeds – 140 grams
- Vegetable oil – 4 tbsp
- Salt to taste
Edamame Hummus Ingredients
- Peeled Edashi Edamame – 250 grams
- Lemon – 1
- Tahini – 60 ml
- Garlic – 1 clove
- Ground cumin – 1/2 tsp
- Salt – 1 tsp
- Water – 3 tbsp
- Chili powder – 1 tsp
Preparation Steps
- Soak Edashi Edamame in hot water for 2 minutes. Peel the Edashi Edamame and set aside.
- Toast the sesame seeds in a wide pan over low-medium heat until they turn a dark brown. Remove and let cool to room temperature.
- Grind the toasted sesame seeds in a food processor.
- Add oil and salt until it forms a creamy texture.
- The tahini is ready to use.
- Combine tahini and lemon juice in a food processor for 1 minute until smooth and creamy.
- Finely chop the garlic, then add it to the food processor along with olive oil or vegetable oil, ground cumin or cumin powder, and salt. Blend for 30 seconds.
- Remove the skins from the peeled Edamame or mukimame, then add them to the food processor and blend until thick and smooth.
- Add water if the hummus is too thick.
