Something is missing without you, something is incomplete without sambal. Here it is, Fried Edamame Sambal, the perfect side dish. This dish is made with protein- and magnesium-rich Edashi Edamame, combined with chicken liver and gizzard, and flavored with chili spices. It’s absolutely delicious, especially when served with rice.

Ingredients

  1. Edashi Edamame – 300 grams
  2. Chicken liver and gizzard – 300 grams
  3. Tofu – 150 grams
  4. Red chili – 500 grams
  5. Shallots – 3 cloves
  6. Garlic – 2 cloves
  7. Kaffir lime leaves – 5 leaves
  8. Lemongrass – 1 stalk
  9. Salt – 1/2 tsp
  10. Pepper – 1/2 tsp
  11. Cooking oil – as needed

Preparation Steps

  1. Blend the red chili, shallots, garlic, and a bit of oil until smooth.
  2. Cut the chicken liver and gizzard, and tofu into pieces according to your preference.
  3. Sauté the blended spices, then add the kaffir lime leaves and lemongrass.
  4. Add the chicken liver, gizzard, tofu, and peeled Edashi Edamame. Cook and stir until well combined.
  5. The Fried Edamame Sambal is ready to serve.
