One of Hong Kong’s signature dishes that is just as delicious and healthy, here is Hong Kong Edamame Egg. This dish is made with eggs as the main ingredient, topped with Edashi Edamame and mixed with a sago flour sauce. Simple yet delightful on the palate!
Ingredients
- Edashi Edamame, 500 grams
- Eggs, 2 pieces
- Sausage, 1 piece
- Red onion, 3 cloves
- Bird’s eye chili, 4 pieces
- Salt, ½ tsp
- Pepper, ½ tsp
- Cooking oil, 3 tbsp
Sauce Ingredients
- Sago flour, 1 tbsp
- Water, 200 ml
- Oyster sauce, 1 tbsp
- Soy sauce, 2 tsp
- Ground pepper, 1 tsp
- Sugar, 1 tsp
- Spring onion, 1 stalk
- Margarine, 2 tspSoak Edashi Edamame in hot water for 2 minutes, then peel off the skin. Set aside.
Preparation Steps
- Soak Edashi Edamame in hot water for 2 minutes, then peel off the skin. Set aside.
- Slice the red onion, chili, and sausage. Set aside.
- Sauté the onion and chili briefly, then add the sausage and edamame.
- Add salt and pepper to the sauté, stir until well combined, then turn off the heat.
- Beat the eggs, then pour them over the edamame mixture while the pan is still hot. Cook until the eggs are done, then drain.
- Combine all the sauce ingredients. Heat a pan and pour in the sauce mixture.
- Add margarine and cook until it thickens.
- Pour the sauce over the cooked eggs.
