One of the delicious and healthier Japanese dishes, here’s Chicken Katsu Tamago Don. Made with seasoned chicken breast and Tamago made with Edashi Edamame, which is rich in protein.
Ingredients Chicken Katsu
- Chicken 250 grams
- Salt ½ tsp
- Black pepper ¼ tsp
- Chicken broth ¼ tsp
- Sesame oil ½ tsp
- Egg 1
- Seasoned flour 100 gram
Tomago
- Soy sauce 2 tbsp
- Edashi Edamame 30 grams
- Simple syrup 2 tbsp
- Sesame oil 1 tbsp
- Chicken broth 200 ml
- Onion ¼ piece
- Egg 1
Preparation Steps
- Prepare the marinade by mixing ½ tsp sesame oil with salt, pepper, and chicken bouillon powder. Set aside.
- Wash and clean the chicken, then marinate the chicken for 1 hour.
- Beat the egg, then coat the chicken with the beaten egg.
- Coat the chicken evenly with seasoned flour.
- Fry the chicken until cooked over medium heat. Drain excess oil.
- Mix soy sauce, simple syrup, 1 tbsp sesame oil, and chicken broth, then stir well. Set aside.
- Soak Edashi Edamame in hot water for 2 minutes, then peel off the skins.
- Slice the onion into large pieces.
- Prepare a pan and sauté the onion until fragrant, then add the soy sauce mixture and cook until boiling.
- Add the beaten egg and mix in the edamame, then cook until half done.
- Place the Chicken Katsu on top of the egg mixture and continue cooking by covering the pan until the egg is fully cooked.
- Prepare cooked rice or noodles in a bowl, then pour the Chicken Katsu Tamago Don over the rice.
- Chicken Katsu Tamago Don is ready to serve.
